Place, Venue, Weather, Travel Information
Rhodos (Rhodes, in English) is one of the largest and most beautiful Greek islands, in eastern Aegean Sea. With a history dating back to the Neolithic Era, Rhodos has been continuously inhabited for 4000 years. The medieval Old Town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The summer school is hosted at Sensimar Port Royal Villas & Spa (http://www.portroyal.gr/), at the eastern coast of the island and only a few meters from a pebble beach. Usually, the weather is pleasant in Rhodos during the last week of August; rainfall is rare, days are sunny and dry (average values for temperature: 29C, humidity: 58%, sunshine per day: 11h, wind: N NW 5). Regarding transportation, in summer one can choose among several daily flights from Athens to Rhodos airport (RHO) serviced by the two Greek airlines (Olympic Air and Aegean Air) as well as direct flights from major European hubs, including London, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam, Milano.
